A Custom Repair in Worcester, MA
Job Details/Customer Testimonial:
“The positive experience I had with Solid State Construction started from the first consultation we had. We had a large scale project that involved replacing siding on two sides of the house and a handful of oddly shaped windows. After coming to look at what work we wanted to do, they came back and reviewed all our options including wood or composite and the differences between each. I had a lot of questions that they were great about answering. We also had to separate the windows from the estimate because we were financing those through the Mass Save program. We wanted some time to review their proposal which they were fine with. After a few days we let them know that we wanted to proceed with the project, so they came back out to our house to finalize the paperwork and help us set up the financing. Throughout the entire process the communication was clear and they were extremely accessible via phone or email.
When the work began the crews were professional and communicative. We were unsure of how much rot we were going to find underneath the old siding so as soon as they stripped it off they let us know the amount of additional work required via email and what it would cost. We had an old custom window replaced which they had fabricated and installed. The window came back from the window vendor slightly larger than the old one and they installed it at no additional charge. The work was extremely high quality and brought us a lot closer to improving the look of our house while still maintaining its old character.
There are two moments that stick out in my mind that demonstrate the caliber of the company. In one moment the work crew accidentally stripped some additional siding that we were not intending to replace. When I questioned the crew, they stopped that portion of the job and worked within the company to figure out how to proceed. They came back to me and admitted they had done it by mistake and that they would replace that portion of the siding where they had stripped it at no additional cost to me. They immediately made it right and that meant a lot to me.
The other moment was after the work was complete. Before the project, we were getting some water coming in through the downstairs ceiling where our wood stove is. We had the chimney and small roof segment looked at previously and we were told that the issue was the old siding on the top half of the house where the siding meets the roof extension. So we were expecting that the siding replacement would solve our water issue. However, after the SSC project was complete we were still getting some water coming in during wind blown rain. They came back and resealed the small roof area below the siding (which was not part of the original job), again at no additional cost. They went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied with the job, and because of that we cannot say enough good things about this company.
Thank you!”
