Call Solid State Construction!

Are you interested in building a new deck on your Northborough home? It’s a great addition to allow for the enjoyment of being outdoors during the beautiful summer months but honestly, the whole process from choosing the materials to going through with the remodel can be a bit daunting.

That’s why you need a dependable remodeling company like Solid State Construction that will help you select the best option for your home and provide expert craftsmanship when it comes to installing your new deck.

Types Of Decks We Offer

We offer two main types of decks, composite and wood. Both are beautiful, and each type offers many wonderful benefits.

Composite Decking

If you’re looking for all the beauty of a wood deck without all the heavy-duty maintenance, you want our composite decking. This type of decking is made from a blend of recycled plastic and wood fibers that can easily be painted or stained. Unlike wood, composite does not require annual sealing and does not rot or splinter.

Our TimberTech AZEK brand composite decks feature special technology that prevents fading, weathering, and unwanted staining. Additionally, these decks are so tough that they are guaranteed a 50-year limited warranty.

There are many great features of composite decks, including:

  • Comes in a wide variety of colors, wood grain patterns, and variegation options
  • Offers pure protection from mold and mildew
  • Won’t rot, crack, splinter, or warp
  • Resists scratching, fading, and staining
  • Remains up to 30 degrees cooler than competing brands
  • Provides excellent sustainability as it is made from up to 50% recycled PVC

Wood Decking

We offer cedar, mahogany, and pressure-treated wood decking. Cedar wood is gorgeous and has natural abilities to resist insects, warping, and rot. Because of its attractive grain, it never needs to be stained or painted. It comes in colors ranging from honey to light brown and weathers to a silvery gray.

Mahogany, on the other hand, ranges from yellow to light red. Some of its species are more resistant to rot and insects than others, so we only use those that are well-suited to the harsh New England climate.

Pressure-treated wood is the most commonly chosen material for the decks we install because of its long lifespan and relatively low cost. This type of material is typically southern pine that has been treated with preservatives that prevent rot and insect infestations.
