Home With Wooden Deck

Gorgeous, Durable Composite And Wood
Decking Options In North Reading

When You Want Quality Without Compromise,
You Need Solid State Construction

Adding a deck to your North Reading home can be a great way to provide a special place for family get-togethers as well as boost the overall value of your house. Choosing the right contractor is critical to having the job done right. You don’t want just anyone working on your home. You want a professional who actually cares.

Here at Solid State Construction, we care about our customers and want to ensure their satisfaction from start to finish. We also expertly install our decks, going above and beyond the Massachusetts code requirements. Your deck will be safe and long-lasting.

Deck Options Available

Composite and wood decking are the two types that we offer our North Reading customers. Both offer excellent benefits and customizations. You’ll be matched with a handpicked Project Consultant to help you decide which is the better option for your home and needs.

Composite Decking

If you like the way wood decking looks but don’t want to deal with all the maintenance it requires, composite decking is the choice for you. Made of a blend of recycled plastic and wood fibers, it accepts paint and stain well, is low maintenance, won’t rot or splinter, and is more durable than other wood-alternative options. Better, it even presents like natural wood. Score!

We use the TimberTech AZEK brand composite decking for its superior ability to prevent weathering, staining, and fading. These decks are also great because they come with a 50-year limited warranty. TimberTech AZEK also offers several options to choose from with the vintage, arbor, and harvest collections.

Wood Decking

For the more traditional wood decking, we offer three types, cedar, mahogany, and pressure-treated wood. Cedar is gorgeous with an attractive grain that never requires painting or staining. It is highly resistant to insects, warping, and rot.

We only use certain species of mahogany, specifically the ones most suited to the New England climate. These species are more resistant than the others to insects and rot.

Out of all the decks we install, pressure-treated wood is the most commonly selected material. It is relatively cost-effective as well as long-lasting. It is treated with chemicals to prevent rot and insect infestations.

What You Need To Know Before Installing A Deck

We’ve been in business long enough to know that there are several a href=”https://www.solidstateconstruction.com/blog/things-to-know-before-building-a-deck/”>key considerations that you need to think about before you begin the installation of your new deck. Without thinking it through, you can really end up in a big mess.

First, you need to know what you want to get out of your new deck. This will help you decide what type and size you are looking for.

Next, you’ll need to consider your budget. Typically, the bigger and more complex the design, the more the deck will cost you in the end. So you need to decide what your budget and your goals are before you move too far ahead in the process.

Third, you’ll need to determine the style of your deck. Most homeowners tend to match the style of their new deck to the style of their home so that it’s uniform. Whatever you want, we can help you achieve it.

Finally, you’ll need to decide what material you want your new deck to be made of. We highly recommend both our composite and pressure-treated wood decking options. Both of them are durable, beautiful, and long-lasting.

Our Project Consultants Make A World Of Difference

Way too many exterior remodeling companies are just focused on trying to sell you a service at the initial consultation, relying on pushy salespeople. At Solid State Construction, we do things a whole lot differently. We have Project Consultants whose main job is to educate you so that you can make the best decision for your needs and circumstances.

We simply don’t believe in pushy sales tactics and up-selling. We’ll use 3-D rendering software to allow you to see what your home will look like with your new deck added on. You’ll be able to add design features every step of the way to create the exact look that you want from your finished project.

Only after you’ve gone through all of these steps do we even ask you if you’re interested in continuing with us to complete your project. The ball is completely in your court when it comes to dealing with us, which is something you’ll rarely find with our competition.

Preparation Is Key

Did you know that most companies are unprepared for remodeling projects and just fly by the seat of their pants? This results in delays, poor customer service, and horrible installation.

We are the total opposite of this. We know that you are putting thousands of dollars on the line, and we take our responsibility to deliver a successful project extremely seriously. We insist on total preparation, and it encompasses every aspect of our business.

Thorough preparation goes into the training of our Project Consultants. They undergo a rigorous one-month training session before they are ever allowed to set foot in a customer’s home. They also go through periodic training to ensure that they are still following the company’s guidelines and meeting standards.

Our installers go through continuous installation training regardless of their level of experience. We make sure they are prepared with the newest and most advanced techniques in the industry.

We also meticulously plan every part of your project on the front side. This includes carefully choosing your installation crew, developing a detailed schedule so that everyone knows their exact job, and stocking our vehicles with everything needed for your project 48 hours before installation day.

Never leaving anything to chance, we prepare for the smallest details, ensuring the project runs smoothly from the beginning to the very end.
