No one embodies this “prowess meets passion” identity more than Rudi Da Silva, our James Hardie guru. He knows more about James Hardie fiber cement siding than just about anyone on Earth…. and he’s dedicated to sharing his comprehensive knowledge with our siding installers.

How We Landed Central MA’s Top James Hardie Guru

Before coming to work for us, Rudi spent more than 10 years running James Hardie training programs. When James Hardie would send an installation and training specialist to get our team up to snuff, Rudi was that guy.

He would come to our warehouse and train our staff every quarter on all the latest in James Hardie fiber cement siding. Plus, he would drill them on the basics, to keep even our veterans on their toes.

Eventually, it got to the point where we weren’t satisfied with Rudi’s once-a-quarter visits. He did such an amazing job teaching and training our installers that we wanted him here FULL TIME.

So, with James Hardie’s approval, we asked Rudi to come work directly for us. We told him we’d create a special Installation Inspector and Trainer (IIT) role just for him. His role would be training our siding installers in our Hardie Batcave and traveling to job sites to inspect installations that were in progress.

Rudi was thrilled with our offer and became a full-fledged Solid State team member soon after.

Respect For The Process

Rudi is a “by the booker,” which is to say he believes in following James Hardie processes to a T. With James Hardie fiber cement siding, this is a GREAT quality to have. The James Hardie installation manual is more than 100 pages, and Rudi knows it better than most know the back of their hand.

He is famous (or notorious) for making our installers “respect the installation manual 100%.” His precision and obsession with accuracy and procedure are absolutely necessary to get the most out of your James Hardie fiber cement siding.

Training Approach And Standards

Fiber cement siding is a wonderful material that is durable, stylish, and long-lasting. But if your contractor fails to install it properly, you will not benefit from any of this. You will have spent money on James Hardie fiber cement siding, without getting true James Hardie quality.

We believe in doing things right the first time. That’s why we have our installers practice, practice, and practice before they ever set foot onto a jobsite.

We even have our own mock home in our training warehouse, on which trainees and established installers alike can hone their skills installing real James Hardie fiber cement siding, without using your home as a guinea pig.

It’s like we took the training sessions Rudi would provide us every quarter and implemented them throughout the year. It’s nice to be able to go to the gym, but it’s way better to have your own personal trainer year-round.

Not to mention your own private “Batcave” to train in. When he’s not doing this, he’s meticulously performing quality control checks on EVERY James Hardie job we take on.
